Merse Pál Szeredi

Merse Pál Szeredi (1990) holds an MA in Art History from Eötvös Loránd University (2013), where he is currently studying for his Ph.D. He was the Head of Department at the Kassák Museum, Budapest, between 1 November 2020 and 31 October 2022. He has been working at the Kassák Museum since 2015, and has been a member of the research group "Lajos Kassák's Avant-Garde Journals from an Interdisciplinary Perspective (1915-1928)" since 2016. His research focuses on Hungarian avant-garde art and the history of Lajos Kassák's magazine Ma (Today) in Vienna between 1920 and 1925, with special emphasis on its international networks. He has curated exhibitions at the Kassák Museum, the Virág Judit Gallery (Budapest) and the Janus Pannonius Museum (Pécs). He has also worked on exhibitions at the Hungarian National Gallery and the Berlinische Galerie. His work, written in Hungarian, English and German, has been published in several academic journals, exhibition catalogues and multi-author books. (2023)
