Marit Paasche is an art historian and works as an art critic, curator and essayist. Her particular field of profession is American and European contemporary art, focusing on video art and experimental film, including artists like Stan Brakhage, Hollis Frampton, Jonas Mekas, Rosalind Nashashibi and Keren Cytter. She now holds a position as assistant professor in art theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo.

Paasche has had several curator engagements for institutions and independent galleries and she is editor of and contributor to several books. Currently, she is working on a compilation of essays discussing the relation between film and visual arts called How Cinema Got a Hold on Art: A Cinematic Approach.
