Andrew J. Russell

Andrew J. Russell (20 March 1829 – 22 September 1902) was a 19th-century American Civil War and Union Pacific Railroad photographer. Russell photographed construction of the Union Pacific Railroad in 1868 and 1869. He was raised in Nunda, New York. He took an early interest in painting, and in addition to executing portraiture for local public figures, he was drawn to railroads and trains.
