Jonáš Gruska is a sound enthusiast and field recordist. He operates Lom, an experimental art and music label presenting East/Central European artists (since 2009), the Lom sound laboratory based in Petržalka, Bratislava (opened 2018), and organises , an outdoor solar-powered experimental music festival Zvůk (since 2013).

Born in Czechoslovakia, Jonáš Gruska studied at Institute of Sonology in The Hague (Netherlands) and at Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). His main focus is chaotic rhythms and the exploration of psychoacoustic properties of sound and field recording. He has created several site-specific sound installations based on resonant properties of spaces and materials and given workshops on sonification, field recording, printed circuit board design and programming for artists. He has authored interactive poems and visual performances, and is also a developer of open source computer instruments and artistic software. Gruska has also been active as part of various Gamelan orchestras in Netherlands, and is currently rehearsing with the Bratislava-based Merak Jagad orchestra. His monikers include Mrkva and Binmatu.

Gruska has performed and exhibited his work Europe-wide at festivals such as Kraak (Belgium), Norberg (Sweden), Sonic Experiments @ ZKM (Germany), Audio Art (Poland), Mélos-Ethos (Slovakia), Parallel Vienna (Austria), and Next (Slovakia).
