Born in Czechoslovakia, Gruska studied at [[Institute of Sonology KONCON The Hague|Institute of Sonology]] in [[The Hague]] (Netherlands) and at Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). His main focus is chaotic rhythms and the exploration of psychoacoustic properties of sound and field recording. He has created several site-specific sound installations based on resonant properties of spaces and materials and given workshops on sonification, field recording, printed circuit board design and programming for artists. He has authored interactive poems and visual performances, and is also a developer of open source computer instruments and artistic software. Gruska has also been active as part of various Gamelan orchestras in Netherlands, and is currently rehearsing with the Bratislava-based Merak Jagad orchestra. In 2009 he started the label [https://zvukolom.org/ Lom], focused on East/Central European experimental art and music. Since 2013 he organises [http://zvuk.zvukolom.org Zvůk], an outdoor solar-powered festival dedicated to experimental music. His monikers include Mrkva and Binmatu.

Jonáš Gruska is a sound artist based in Bratislava.

In 2011 he founded a music label and instrument company LOM, which presents East/Central European experimental art and music. Since 2013 he has been organizing ZVUK, an outdoor festival dedicated to experimental music. In 2018 he opened LOM Space, a venue for contemporary sound in Bratislava.

In 2019 he established bioLOM/mykoLOM, a platform for amateur mycology, lichenology and fungal perspectives. He founded the mykoLOM lab with professional equipment for cultivation of fungi.
