Ivar Smedstad

Born 1961 in Oslo. Ivar Smedstad has worked with video art and electronic media since the early 1980s and participated in several international video festivals. He holds a BFA in Performance/Video from San Francisco Art Institute (1988). Technical Manager at Electronic Arts Intermix, New York, (1988–92) and Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne (1992–2000). He currently holds the position as Associate Professor and institute chair at the Intermedia department of Trondheim Academy of Fine Art. In 2009 he was appointed new artistic director for Atelier Nord.
