Mike Sperlinger (1977, UK) is a writer and curator, as well as Head of Programme for the Office for Contemporary Art Norway. In 2002 he co-founded LUX, which drew on the legacy of the London Filmmakers’ Co-operative and other artist-run organisations and stayed on as Assistant Director for more than a decade. From 2013 to 2024, he was Professor of Writing and Theory at KHiO, Oslo. Among his recent projects are the exhibition Counterimaginaries at Tromsø Kunstforening and The Social Life of Film, an international congress for “nomadic screening collectives” organized together with Terrassenkollektivet in Copenhagen (both 2023).
