Martin Mazanec (1981) is a curator, programme manager and theorist. He is head programme manager and curator of the annual PAF Festival in Olomouc (since 2007). He graduated in sociology (1999–2004) and film studies (1999–2006) from the Faculty of Philosophy, Palacký University, Olomouc, and holds a Doctorate in film editing from the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU), Prague (2012). Since 2009 he has been focussing on curating time-based media works in gallery and cinema contexts (Josef Sudek's Studio, KGVU Zlín, Summer Film School, Febiofest, Aye Aye, Youth Gallery in Brno). Mazanec edited a number of publications (Peter Kubelka, Olomouc, 2008; Manifests of the Moving Image: Colour Music, Olomouc, 2010; Fragile Cinema, Olomouc, 2013; Michal Pěchouček: Studio, Olomouc, 2013). He is a member of the Mediabaze.cz research team at the FAMU Center for Audio Visual Studies. He published in Cinepur, Iluminace, Labyrint Revue, A2 and elsewhere. (2013)
