De Balie is a centre for culture, politics and media based in Amsterdam. It has a large cafe and three auditoriums where public events are held. These include discussions, debates, underground film screenings, multi-day festivals and readings.

Founded in 1982. The building used to be for the court of Amsterdam, which moved to the Parnassusweg. Felix Rottenberg is co-founder of De Balie. Anil Ramdas was director from 2003 to 2005.
