Jonáš Gruska is a sound enthusiast and field recordist. He operates Lom, an experimental art and music label presenting East/Central European artists (since 2009), the Lom Space sound laboratory in Petržalka, Bratislava (opened 2018), and organises the outdoor experimental music festival Zvůk (since 2013).

Born in Czechoslovakia, Jonáš Gruska studied at Institute of Sonology in The Hague (Netherlands) and Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). His main focus are chaotic and polymetric rhythms, unconventional tunings, exploration of psychoacoustic properties of sound and field recording. He has created several site-specific sound installations based on resonant properties of spaces and materials and gave workshops on sonification, field recording, electromagnetic listening, and programming for artists. He is the creator of Elektrosluch – electromagnetic listening device. His monikers include Mrkva and Binmatu.

Gruska performed and exhibited in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, United Kingdom; at festivals such as Kraak (Belgium), Unsound (Poland), Norberg (Sweden), Sonic Experiments @ ZKM (Germany), Audio Art (Poland), Borealis (Norway), Mélos-Ethos (Slovakia), Parallel Vienna (Austria), Ultrahang (Hungary) and Next (Slovakia).
