Born 1897. Died 1976. The leading supporter and practitioner of functional design in Czechoslovakia. He advocated the constructivist ideal and the application of design principles to every aspect of contemporary life.

In addition to graphics, this prolific Prague designer created toys, furniture, silverware, dishes, and fabrics.
