Born 1970, has been an assistant professor since 2001 at the Institute for Art History/Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, [[Munich]]. Her special focus is on media art, with a special interest in digital media as instrument and object of art. Among other projects she has been coordinating an e-learning project, titled "Schule des Sehens" - "School of Visual Perception". - Her dissertation deals with aspects of the Italian Renaissance.

Katja Kwastek (1970) is professor of modern and contemporary art at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is the author of the book Aesthetics of Interaction in Digital Art (MIT Press, 2013) and specializes in intersections of art, new media and technology. Previously, she taught at Ludwig Maximilians-University (Munich), Rhode Island School of Design Providence), LBI Media.Art.Research (Linz) and Humboldt-University (Berlin).
