Raluca Voinea
Raluca Voinea (1978, Braşov) is curator and art critic, based in Bucharest. Since 2012 she is co-director of the tranzit.ro association. From 2012 to 2019 she managed tranzit.ro space in Bucharest, which included an art gallery, a communitarian permaculture garden and an Orangery (a space for hosting fragile plants and ideas), all developed organically and in response to both the local context and to more international frameworks.
Recent curatorial projects at tranzit.ro/Bucharest include: Upon Us All Equally (an event curated by tranzit.org network), Artistic Enquiries into Plants (group exhibition co-curated with Iuliana Dumitru, 2019), Yuri Leiderman: Self-portrait with Valeriana (2017), The Veil of Peace (research exhibition on the iconography of peace in socialist Romania, co-curated with Ovidiu Țichindeleanu and Igor Mocanu, as the Resurrection Committee, 2017), Frugalitas, Severitas, Fidelis – Adelina Ivan, Nicoleta Moise (2016), Pavel Braila: Joc. The Energy of Life (2016).

Since 2008 she is co-editor of IDEA arts + society magazine and since 2012 the coordinator of the (Expozitii) collection published by IDEA Publishing House. Within this collection, she published Metaphor. Protest. Concept – Performance Art in Romania and Moldova (co-authored with Iulia Popovici, 2017), co-edited house pARTy, 1987, 1988 (2016) and translated into Romanian Claire Bishop’s Radical Museology (2015).
In 2013 Raluca Voinea was the curator of the Romanian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale with the project An Immaterial Retrospective of the Venice Biennale by artists Alexandra Pirici and Manuel Pelmuş. In 2015 she co-authored, with Alexandra Pirici, The Manifesto for the Gynecene. Sketch of a New Geological Era. The Manifesto was translated into several languages and included in different publications and exhibitions.
