In 1988, Alexander Sokurev created the 'Leningrad Film School', which four parallel cinema authors joined: Evgeny Ufit, Igor Bezrukov, Denis Kuzmin and Konstantin Mitenev. Sokurev stresses that he is not their teacher, he is only helping them on an organizational level.
