Haitian Ma

Haitian Ma is researcher, producer, writer and currently works as lecturer in Television and Cross-Media culture at the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam. She received a M.A. in Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image from the University of Amsterdam and an M.A. in Comparative Literature and Critical Translation from the University of Oxford. Her research interest spans across the philosophy of translation, questions of surrogacy, documentation practices and the history of outer space. Haitian's writing draws comparison between the technique of translation and the conservation of live art, and addresses how the arena of loss in both opens up a different mode of remembering. (2023)
