Born 1910 in Jelsa, Croatia. Died 1997 in Zagreb. Studied art history at the University of Zagreb (grad. 1935, Ph.D. 1951). 1960–1972 professor in the department of art history in Zagreb. Co-founder of the Institute of Art History in Zagreb.
