Robert M Ochshorn
Robert M. Ochshorn is a software engineer, cultural theorist, and media researcher. He develops unusual digital interfaces to observe and activate sound, video, touch, and language. He is interested in how new communication tools enable new social practices, and vice versa. Ochshorn is a columnist for Starship Magazine and co-founder and CEO at Reduct.Video. [1]
He studied computer science at the Cornell University in Ithaca, NY/USA. After receiving his BA in 2009, he worked as a research assistant with Krzysztof Wodiczko in the Interrogative Design Group at MIT and Harvard. In 2012 he completed a fellowship at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, NL, where he developed the open-source InterLace software that was used in collaboration with Eyal Sivan to create the web-based documentary Montage Interdit. He was affiliated with Akademie Schloss Solitude, SAP Labs - Communications Design Group, Viewpoints Research Institute, and the YCombinator Research - Human Advancement Research Community.
