Natalie Gravenor was born in Oakland, California and moved to Berlin in 1977. She graduated with a degree in mass communications from the Berlin University of the Arts in 1994. Since 1988, she has been involved in video and television production, focusing on cultural topics such as music, media arts as well as politics and the urban transformation of Berlin.

She also worked as a freelance author and translator for Moving Pictures, Screen International, Time Out Guide and The Wire.

Since 2000 she has focused on curation of exhibitions and film programs exploring freedom of expression and other human rights issues from a cultural perspective, such as the One World Berlin Human Rights Film Festival.

From 2009-2017 she coordinated content acquisition for the art house VOD platform realeyz.de, operated by EYZ Media GmbH.

Since 2017 she programs and organizes film festivals (Soundwatch Berlin Music Film Festival, One World Berlin Human Rights Film Festival) and LETsDOK (2023)]
