Composer, conductor, musicologist and professor Anatol Vieru (1958-1964) studied music in Bucharest (1946-1949) with Leon Klepper, Constantin Silvestri, Paul Constantinescu and later in Moscow (1951-1954) with Aram Khachaturian. In 1967 he followed the Darmstadt summer courses.
